Act 2, Scene VII

LEPIDUS
What manner o' thing is your crocodile?

MARK ANTONY
It is shaped, sir, like itself; and it is as broad
as it hath breadth: it is just so high as it is,
and moves with its own organs: it lives by that
which nourisheth it; and the elements once out of
it, it transmigrates.

LEPIDUS
What colour is it of?

MARK ANTONY
Of it own colour too.

LEPIDUS
'Tis a strange serpent.

MARK ANTONY
'Tis so. And the tears of it are wet.

  1. It's tears are wet, but have you forgotten what crocodile tears truly are? They exist, and they are born of pain, but they are also born of manipulation and lies. I would not believe a Crocodile's tears, oh no, not once.

Well, maybe twice. Three times, shame on me.

  2. it is representative of a larger whole
my words are, in part a truth i have divulged
but, in the end, i am using them perhaps solely to get your reaction
does that make me a deceitful person?
or does it merely make me what i am?

  3. You are who you are at heart, it's simply how you show the rest of us your true nature. Show us a little, show us it all, lie to us, make it pretty or make it ugly. Every lie has a seed of truth, and damnit, I must say I'm curious now as to how many acts this little tragedy really has.
